What an incredibly busy week! The year end slide is absolutely in full force. But I have gotten things ordered, gotten things sent, etc.

Yesterday was a day of shoveling the 'rents out a bit, mailing packages, ordering a holiday pie, and picking up my first 3D printed request from the library. It will need some trimming (okay a lot of trimming!) before I even know if it'll work, but it's a conversion head for an HG GINN, to make it into Elijah's GINN. I did in fact tell boycritter that we needed to run to the bookie joint so I could get a little head. It was also their book sale weekend and I ended up with a couple of books, a few CDs, and a half-sized binder of clear-pages that will work great for model decal storage.

The weather was awful midweek. Just absolute snowpocalypse for a couple of days, and the worst was that it warmed up and then the temperature dropped like a rock, so everything is now frozen hell. It's supposed to warm up again next week but idk how much that'll help. I think I burned a lot of my ability to can just driving from place to place. (Also did some untoward things to my shoulders while working under the dash of an old Mustang.)

Really the only interesting thing from my week was a small brightly colored tank, lol. I did have a couple more of my Black Friday purchases finally roll in and I think I've officially crossed the space-to-store-stuff rubicon. ^^; Time to get building.

Also time to catch up on my inbox.

Me:

Comet, or Ju, 27, Brazilian, but I only post in English.

I mostly post about:

I like posting about things I may be into at the moment, like a game I played or something I’ve found interesting, and some basic thoughts about them. Mostly I have been logging in my Solo TTRPG plays, my Doronai Nui adventures mainly. Sometimes a post about real life, but not much. The plan is to just blog about anything I feel like sharing.

My hobbies are:

I play video games, I solo TTRPGs, I draw, I drabble, some fandoming, and some light toy collecting. Want to read more.

My fandoms are:

My main fandoms are Bionicle (G1) and Transformers (G1, Beast Wars, Skybound, Prime, and some IDW), I also like No Man’s sky, and have been getting into The Dark Crystal. And a little bit of many things. I have been playing a lot of Vintage Story.

My posting schedule tends to be:

Sporadic. I’ve made an effort to post more frequently, but it’s more interesting when I actually have something that has been on my mind.

I'm looking to meet people who:

Post similar things or may like similar things. I’m not around all the time, and I’m a bit quiet, so I don’t mind people who are similar.

There's a Cozy Fantasy Book Blast happening, and I picked up Good Neighbours by Stephanie Burgis, and Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox by Forthright. Speaking of cozy, I had a conversation on the FaRo discord about project-hopping, because while I know I'll return to angsty paranormal romance in future projects and am committed to writing Book Two of Bloodhunt Academy right now, I need to have a cozy fantasy writing project ongoing alongside. The cozy dragon romantasy is what I'm eyeing right now. While they're two different vibes, I'm going to keep them on the same pen name (I looked at my collection of book ideas and realised I'm not a writer who can come up with similar things for long in the first place).
We've been menstruating so many centuries, and yet. )

Hey everyone! My name is Leslie but I'm usually called Lilith online. Either works. I used to be on LiveJournal for years then fell away once Facebook became a thing. I am venturing back to LJ and I will also be posting here as well. I remember having really great connections on LJ and I am hoping to find that again.

Name:

Leslie aka Lilith. Either is fine.

Age:

45. I've always been an old soul and now my body is catching up.

I mostly post about:

I don't know yet. I think it's going to be mostly a diary kind of thing where I talk about my life and thoughts and dreams and goals and the nice stuff and the bad stuff. A little bit of everything that makes me ... me.

My hobbies are:

theater, acting, directing, doing tech, art, singing, writing, photography, anything NASA (I go to the Space Center a lot), thrifting, true crime, documentaries

My fandoms are:

Anything Broadway, Marvel, Wicked, paranormal shows, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Taylor Swift, etc

I'm looking to meet people who:

Are chill. Some things should be serious about some things, but also a sense of humor is great. I am very "woke" though. Please be aware I am "woke". I am also disabled and will talk about my illness and disability issues. And I am mom of an nonverbal son who is autistic and those subjects will come up. I am adult too so I'll bring up adult issues as well, like sex.

My posting schedule tends to be: daily/weekly/monthly/sporadic/etc

My goal is to post at least weekly, maybe twice a week. My illness can throw me for a loop and suddenly I can't sit up some days. So, it depends on my spoons.

When I add people, my dealbreakers are:

If you are conservative. We just won't connect or agree on things, and I am at the point in my life that I want peace. It's better to just move along. I'm also not Christian but I do have Christian friends, but I am not into Christian Nationalism. If you are, we won't be a good fit. I identify as pagan/witch. I'm also LGBTQIA+ and have a trans son.

Before adding me, you should know: I am unapologetically myself. I can be a strong personality and I will always say if I disagree with someone, but I won't be rude about it unless I am needing to match energy being thrown at me.

Tanks A Lot

It looks like I forgot to mention acquiring a pair of tanks from M at comic-con. (Wait no, I did, it's just buried in commentary, whoops.) They're 1/144 scale and were priced right (as in, I would have paid but didn't have to) and I finally got one built and painted with some paint markers I was trying out.

Because I am silly, and the best thing to do with German WWII tanks is be silly, here is Astray Blue Frame 2nd with a tank:

Blue white and orange model of Gundam Astray Blue Frame Second, a humanoid piloted robot, kneeling beside a matching model tank on a green cutting board.

Blue white and orange model of Gundam Astray Blue Frame Second holding the matching model tank in its hands as if she is offering it to the viewer.

The tank itself needs a bit of glue at some point to not fall apart at the tiniest of movements or drafts, along with a tiny hand-painted snake-mark, but overall it passes the two-foot test and I am pleased. (Blue Frame also needs a bit more work but I misplaced her decals and have gotten varying degrees of annoyed at her color-correction. I'll get there.)

What's up?

Hi folks, I hope you all are doing well. Not good at doing these intro things, but I'll give it a try. I'm Lesley. I'm in my late thirties, happily married and I have one cat child. I love books of all types, I'm currently making my way through the Dungeon Crawler Carl books, Tv shows including The Golden girls, How I met your Mother, Grace and Frankie and others. I love all kinds of music, and I enjoy baking. I welcome people of all backgrounds and stuff, I'm a Christian myself. as for what I write about in here, To be honest, there's only one entry in here, but I plan on changing that. I will most likely write about daily life things, and sometimes about what I'm watching/reading/listening to as well as mental and physical health stuff. I am totally blind, so sometimes I will write about that. If there is anything else you wanna know, feel free to take a peak at the profile. I will be writing in here probably every few days to every week. Depends on the mood I'm in. I hope all of you have a good day, and if you celebrate them, happy holidays

Seeking New Friends

[personal profile] dandylover1 posting in [community profile] addme
Name: Georgiana or Georgie. Neither is my legal name, but they are what I use here and in most situations.

Age: Forty-two.

I mostly post about: Entries may consist of anything from short summaries of my day, to surveys, to essays on various topics, to interesting links and quotes that I find, along with my commentary on them. Lately, I have been writing reviews of opera recordings from the 1950's and earlier. I have no interest in politics and modern celebrities. I wish to keep my journal light and happy as much as possible.

My hobbies are: studying dandyism, Received Pronunciation, the Regency, and the Italian language, reading, writing, cooking, baking, playing cards and dice, and enjoying warm weather.

My Other Interests include: coffees, teas, antique menswear and accessories (usually Edwardian), chamber and classical music, old opera singers, plants and gardening, crafts, and history and nature documentaries. I love wit, wordplay, and sarcastic humour without vulgarity. I also love cats.

My fandoms are: I don't have any.

I'm looking to meet people who: are positive, who share my interests and can introduce me to some new ones, and who enjoy at least some elements of high culture. While the minimum age I will add is twenty-one, I tend to get along with those who are older than I, particularly seniors. I am also single and searching, but since this isn't a dating community, I'll just say that you can find more about that in one of the sticky entries in my journal. You can also find my Mastodon and Escargot.chat information there.

My posting schedule tends to be: It varies, from a few posts in a given week to a few in a single day. Often, I post what I call filler entries toward the end of the month. These are entries posted on one date but for another. I try to post a few entries per week.

When I add people, my dealbreakers are: minors (I prefer at least over twenty-one), depression and/or anxiety (posted regularly), bad self-esteem, life drama, recreational drugs, religion or politics (posted regularly), a lot of bad grammar and spelling (unless you're learning English), and frequent obscenities. Please note that I am totally blind, so if you mostly post images, I won't be able to comment on them, as I cannot see them.

Before adding me, you should know: I have no time for political correctness, lies, or drama. While I always try to be civil during discussions, I share my opinion without reservations. If you are easily offended, please do not add me. I have a very dry and witty sense of humour. Otherwise, feel free to read my profile and/or posts and add me if you wish. I will most likely reciprocate. I also comment when I have something to say, but there are times when I don't read my friends' page for awhile, and I am trying to change that.

From Far Away 1-14 (Kyoko Hikawa) - for a beautifully-drawn shoujo manga with an interesting plot, this was such a slog that I am absolutely baffled. Like, I have bounced off this multiple times and basically made it through this attempt by skimming towards the end. Absolutely should have been my thing, absolutely was not. Base plot is isekai/portal fantasy, schoolgirl in a world with a bit of magic with a strong romance and good supporting cast.

"Gaiking" - the Force Five version of the series, presented on five DVD-Rs that I picked up many years ago. Despite this being an incomplete version of an already-shaved series, it wasn't difficult to follow and was pretty enjoyable. Had a 'movie version' added at the end.

RahXephon - complete series + movie. This is one of those "I will need to watch this again to fully follow wtf just happened" pseudo-mecha anime from the earlier part of the century. I liked it, and I liked the cast for the most part, though every now and then it felt like it was trying to go the harem route for no reason. I have a full DVD set with all the beautiful liner notes but I apparently also picked up a thin Blu-ray set at some point...

So, From Far Away can go, Gaiking and the thin RahXephon set can stay. Technically I guess this is a 50/50?

Anyway, even though we're into Actual Advent territory, I'm just gonna keep going and probably all through next year?

Greetings

I've done another bit of security-pruning and circle adjustment. Occasionally I just unfollow/un-access accounts that haven't posted for a rather long time. And I saw a few folks that are active again, so re-followed. ^_^ This is also a reminder that you can unfollow/etc. me for any reason and I won't take it personally.

I posted up a [community profile] holiday_wishes post over here. The most important bits are to tell me what to work on with my website and also send me Gundams, lol. I'm still granting all the wishes I can. This is such a fun time of year.

If you're in the USA (sorry, int'l shipping sucks), you can have some of my stuff over here. I really should make these posts more often as I spelunk.

I need to go through my communities and make/add some sort of No AI guideline to each. I just pulled a drabble from a community because they're allowing AI slop to be posted. It's now crossposted to my spaces and deleted from theirs. I'd always meant to create more for that community but that sure isn't happening now.

Processing family stuff )
I finished A Curse So Dark And Lonely and... guess what y'all... I ship the prince and the commander //faceplams //shrugs

I meannn. SPOILERS but likeeeee.

The commander is the only one left by the prince's side, and stays loyal to the prince even after the prince transforms into the Beast and kills most of the commander's family. Stays loyal to the prince even when the prince attacks him in Beast form, keeps trying to get himself hurt in the prince's stead, and tries to fake his own death to avoid interfering in the prince's future...

The prince is all "sobs I'm so mean to you why don't you hate me" and the commander is all "I gave you my word, my prince" ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The commander has risked himself to protect the Beastly prince at each transformation, season after season, and this book tried to convince me that a girl who was trapped in the Beast's castle in just ONE season gave the prince True Love?? Excuse me, do you see the commander and the prince??? THAT'S TRUE LOVEEEE

Ahem. Anyway I borrowed the second book in the trilogy, A Heart So Fierce And Broken, because obviously I need to ship the prince and commander more. The first book ended with the commander faking his own death and the prince being heartbroken, though, so I'm just hoping they don't stay separated throughout the second book, I don't have the patience for that.

In other news, I renewed my BookBrush subscription, which pinches, but I need it for my indie author projects. I also renewed my premium Dreamwidth account (yay for the points bonus!) and deleted a few icons. I'm thinking of moving my monthly payments for my author website to yearly, as well. We shall see. I was looking into moving my author newsletter from Substack to PencilBooth, which is also free. But PencilBooth doesn't have a welcome email, just a welcome message. And I can't make do with just a welcome message when I need to remind people who download my reader magnets from Bookfunnel promos who I am. I need pictures and links, not just a paragraph of text. So still using Substack for now.

My tummy hurts for hours every day and I'm glad I'm not working, but I want to write more than I am now. I want to rest and then write, not just rest and then rest some more. The FaRo discord I'm part of does FaRoWriMo every month, in which you choose your word count goal for the month and track it together on a collective spreadsheet where we each get a column (and talk and support each other in the dedicated discord channel) and I'm considering modifying my goal. I want to sigh, but I also feel fortunate about being able to rest, but I guess disappointment and relief can coexist.
